Acting as the bridge between leadership and the wider engineering team,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0combine hands-on technical delivery with mentorship, helping to guide design direction while ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions aligned to\u00a0programme\u00a0needs.<\/p>\n<p><b>What\u00a0We\u2019ll\u00a0Need You to Do\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development and refinement of\u00a0component\u00a0designs, ensuring solutions are technically robust, manufacturable, and aligned with\u00a0programme\u00a0milestones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive design maturity by producing and approving drawings and specifications that enable early supplier engagement and long-lead material procurement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with manufacturing partners and supply chain to embed\u00a0design-for-manufacture\u00a0principles and resolve emerging challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical leadership to engineers, acting as a mentor and escalation point while supporting team capability growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage multiple work packages within an integrated\u00a0programme, balancing technical delivery with schedule and cost considerations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate across disciplines to support plant integration, resolve design risks, and\u00a0maintain\u00a0alignment with regulatory and quality standards<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to broader engineering strategy, supporting planning,\u00a0prioritisation, and continuous improvement across the team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What\u00a0You\u2019ll\u00a0Bring\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered status achieved or in progress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in\u00a0component\u00a0mechanical design, ideally within a complex or regulated industry such as nuclear,\u00a0defence, or aerospace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong capability in producing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, with working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g.\u00a0Siemens NX, Inventor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of\u00a0design-for-manufacture\u00a0principles and experience collaborating with suppliers or manufacturing partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with industry standards (such as ASME or GD&amp;T) and the engineering lifecycle from concept through to in-service support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Confidence in leading technical discussions, mentoring others, and influencing stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams<\/li>\n<li>A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex engineering problems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Location\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This role offers flexible and hybrid working, with regular collaboration expected across our Derby, Warrington, and Manchester offices, alongside engagement with suppliers and partners as\u00a0required.<\/p>\n<p><b>What\u2019s in it for you<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We anticipate a salary of<strong> \u00a350,650 &#8211; \u00a366,500<\/strong> dependent on the skills, values, and knowledge you bring.<\/p>\n<p><b>We also offer excellent benefits including:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bonus &#8211; Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%<\/li>\n<li>Benefits Allowance &#8211; \u00a32,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package<\/li>\n<li>Pension &#8211; 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.<\/li>\n<li>Holidays &#8211; 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days<\/li>\n<li>Private Medical Insurance &#8211; BUPA single cover health care<\/li>\n<li>Life Assurance &#8211; 6x pensionable pay<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3250 &#8211; One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a Senior Engineer,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0play a pivotal role in shaping the design and delivery of RPV internals, influencing critical engineering\u00a0decisions\u00a0and supporting the progression of a first-of-a-kind nuclear\u00a0programme.
