Leading a team of Layout engineers, this pivotal role will define and deliver building layouts and plant outage strategies that underpin safe, efficient and cost-effective reactor operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Be Delivering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll need you to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading the end-to-end delivery of mechanical layout and installation design for the Support &amp; Outage buildings, ensuring outputs meet cost, quality and schedule requirements<\/li>\n<li>Owning and developing integrated outage strategies across Reactor Island, working closely with Operations to embed maintainability and operational efficiency into design solutions<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs (Civils, Construction, Architecture, Safety, Security, Human Factors) to define building layouts, personnel flows, and operational models<\/li>\n<li>Defining and executing the delivery plan for the Support &amp; Outage block, aligning stakeholders and ensuring effective governance and design assurance<\/li>\n<li>Managing programme risks, identifying lessons learned, and escalating key issues to drive continuous improvement and robust delivery<\/li>\n<li>Leading, coaching and developing a small team of engineers, ensuring strong technical oversight, capability growth and effective resource utilisation<\/li>\n<li>Providing technical checking, guidance and approval of design outputs, ensuring compliance with standards, requirements and best practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why This Role Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a visible and business-critical role, where you\u2019ll bring structured thinking, collaborative leadership and the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into elegant, practical solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience delivering complex layout or installation design programmes, and\/or plant operations experience within regulated or high-integrity environments<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019ll ask about your experience leading engineering teams, managing delivery milestones, and navigating design trade-offs<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of systems engineering principles, stakeholder management, andthrough-life operational design considerations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We offer flexible working, with expectations to attend key UK sites as required to support collaboration and delivery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s In It For You<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We anticipate paying a salary of between <strong>\u00a360,000-\u00a378,750<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Bonus &#8211; Performance related target opportunity 7%<\/li>\n<li>Benefits Allowance \u2013 \u00a32,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke\u00a0package<\/li>\n<li>Pension &#8211; 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.<\/li>\n<li>Holidays &#8211; 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4\u00a0days.<\/li>\n<li>Private Medical Insurance &#8211; BUPA single cover health\u00a0care<\/li>\n<li>Life Assurance &#8211; 6x pensionable pay<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3250 &#8211; One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this context, we are looking for a Manager \u2013 Mechanical Layout &amp; Installations (Support &amp; Outage Block) to report to our Senior Manager \u2013 Reactor Island Layout.
