Our expanding UK Energy Advisory business is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Renewable Energy Advisory team, supporting growth across the power sector from solar PV, wind and storage to transmission, distribution and behind-the-meter connections. In this role, you will manage and deliver a range of advisory services, drive innovation in power generation solutions, and help shape the future of sustainable energy projects while mentoring the next generation of engineers. We welcome applicants with diverse experience and perspectives, even if you don\u2019t meet every requirement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__content__view__field__value\">\n<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Key responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Technical Advisory:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-pasted=\"true\">\n<ul>\n<li>Modelling and model verification, Options Appraisals, Feasibility Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Technology specific Owners Engineering services.<\/li>\n<li>Determining equipment performance specifications and key inputs in the development or review of engineering design through-out project\u00a0life-cycle.<\/li>\n<li>Leading and contributing to coherent and concise technical reports and proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Technical lead and being accountable for key tasks and quality data outputs through project reviewer role.<\/li>\n<li>Engaging with a range of stakeholders at all levels including leading and contributing to client meetings &amp; presentations, technical discussions, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Project Management of multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating activities across various technical domains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Innovation and Best Practices:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and use technical tools to support project delivery and contribute to the development of best practices and standard methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in renewables.<\/li>\n<li>Input to thought leadership within Jacobs and externally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Client Management and Business Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"TextRun SCXW131870946 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW131870946 BCX0\">Develop client relationships, leading progress meetings and presentations.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with our sales team and conduct other business development activities to grow the Renewable Energy portfolio and pipeline.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare compelling proposals to secure new business opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<article class=\"article article--details \">\n<div class=\"article__content\">\n<div class=\"article__content__view\">\n<div class=\"article__content__view__field bold\">\n<div class=\"article__content__view__field__label\"><strong>Here&#8217;s what you&#8217;ll need<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"article__content__view__field__value\">\n<div data-pasted=\"true\">\n<ul>\n<li>Significant engineering experience that includes time working on renewable generation projects and their integration, either in consultancy or development (solar PV, wind, BESS, etc).<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of a Degree or higher (e.g.\u00a0Masters\u00a0or PhD) in Electrical Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Membership of, or working towards a recognised professional institution \/organisation preferably at a Chartered level.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the UK &amp; Continental Europe Renewable Energy market, key growth areas and global market insight.<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management skills, including ability to develop clear work programmes and delegate requirements to other team members.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to engage with colleagues and clients and provide clear, evidence-based advice verbally and within written reports and presentations in English.<\/li>\n<li>Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of team leadership and the training\/ mentoring of junior staff.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to travel between offices and client locations on occasion- our team is based at offices in England, Scotland and Wales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your impact Jacobs is committed to leading the global energy transition, delivering services across energy networks, renewable generation, storage and major infrastructure.
