{"id":22261,"date":"2026-09-10T00:02:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T07:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/stanowisko\/senior-cable-engineer-ehv\/"},"modified":"2026-09-10T02:02:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T00:02:17","slug":"sse-senior-cable-engineer-ehv-aberdeen-wielka-brytania","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/en\/stanowisko\/sse-senior-cable-engineer-ehv-aberdeen-wielka-brytania\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Cable Engineer (EHV)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of SSEN Transmission Pathway to 2030 programme of works, we are looking for a Senior Cable Engineer to join our Offshore Project Engineering team to help drive forward our projects and who can bring big ideas, new skills and innovative thinking to help us grow our teams to successfully deliver a network for Net Zero.<\/p>\n<p>Our Pathway to 2030 projects incorporate HVDC and HVAC cable systems in both marine and terrestrial environments. The Senior Cable Engineer is a key person in driving technical excellence, quality of installation, best practice, and resolution to design risks\/ technical issues. You&#8217;ll play a key part in delivering Net Zero.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support FEED activities including options assessment, cable route and landfall development, and risk assessment, working collaboratively with environmental, consenting, geotechnical, civil, and offshore installation teams.<\/li>\n<li>Drive safety-in-design as part of Designer and Principal Designer duties, managing geotechnical risks and reducing technical, quality, health, and safety risks through identification, assessment, mitigation, communication, and record keeping.<\/li>\n<li>Define cable system requirements for ECCs and contribute to tender reviews as a core member of the technical team.<\/li>\n<li>Review and approve Contractor designs and deliverables for compliance with Employer\u2019s requirements and legislation, while overseeing installation and commissioning works.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support throughout their traineeships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You have<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A BEng\/BSc (or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Proven technical expertise from key roles in HVDC or HVAC transmission cable project development and delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable experience with ECC contracts and CDM regulations, particularly as Supervisor and Principal Designer.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of industry standards, specifications, and best-practice recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Effective Communication, manage time and priorities well, and mentor junior engineers to build technical excellence across the team and business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About SSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SSE has a bold ambition \u2013 to be a leading energy company in a net zero world.
