Together with our clients,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0helping to deliver the energy transition globally.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of the role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Principal Designer (Advisor) \/ CDM \/ Health &amp; Safety Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and advising clients in meeting their duties under CDM 2015 across the Energy Division of Mott MacDonald. Working on major frameworks and high-profile energy projects, you will help shape safe, efficient design practices and ensure compliance with Health &amp; Safety legislation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise while contributing to world-class, multidisciplinary teams in the power generation and transmission sector.<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities and duties include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare and maintain project-level CDM and Building Safety Act (BSA) Compliance Strategies<\/li>\n<li>Support clients in identifying, obtaining, and managing pre-construction information<\/li>\n<li>Review existing information and highlight gaps or further requirements<\/li>\n<li>Review designers\u2019 hazard and risk information and support hazard register management<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with designers to identify, eliminate, or control foreseeable risks<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Project Managers to guide safe design through construction, operation, and maintenance stages<\/li>\n<li>Assist in preparing and completing the Health &amp; Safety File<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Essential:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HNC\/HND or technical degree in engineering, energy, construction, or a related field<\/li>\n<li>Recognised Health &amp; Safety qualification (NEBOSH Construction minimum; ideally NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 4\u20137, Health &amp; Safety Degree, or ICE H&amp;S Registration)<\/li>\n<li>Chartered or working toward chartership (IET, CIOB, ICE, RICS, IOSH, CABE, RIBA, or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proven experience advising on CDM Regulations within energy and infrastructure projects<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Strong level of technical competence \u00b7 Experience in high-hazard or high-reliability environments<\/li>\n<li>Experience across the full project lifecycle including design, construction, and handover<\/li>\n<li>Proactive and well-organised approach \u00b7 Excellent communication and client-facing skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong collaborative and team-working capability<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work within budget and time constraints<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting design teams on major projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience conducting HSE inspections and audits<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ISO 45001 and integrated management systems<\/li>\n<li>CSCS, Person, or similar competency cards<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of BS5975:2024 and temporary works design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If this opportunity resonates with you, we would be delighted to hear from you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the\u202fbusiness\u202funit The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across\u00a0several\u00a0sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable\u00a0generation\u00a0and transmission &amp; distribution networks.
