You will play a key role in delivering technical design and assurance for HVDC\u2011based energy infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>Workload will vary in line with business needs but will primarily include the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optioneering, feasibility studies, risk assessment, consenting support and high\u2011level cost estimates<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of functional specifications<\/li>\n<li>Review of bid documentation<\/li>\n<li>Technical assurance of EPC design documentation<\/li>\n<li>Site visits and witnessing of factory acceptance tests<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams<\/li>\n<li>Participation in technical discussions with OEMs<\/li>\n<li>Provision of technical services or support to OEMs, developers and lenders<\/li>\n<li>Site pre\u2011commissioning and commissioning supervision<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining awareness of HVDC technological developments<\/li>\n<li>Supporting business development and client relationship management<\/li>\n<li>Identification of key interfaces and leading meetings or issue resolution<\/li>\n<li>Review of type, routine and site acceptance test requirements and methodologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Electrical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>xtensive HVDC experience, ideally gained with an OEM or TSO<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of HVDC design principles, delivery activities and programmes, performance guarantees, station layouts, rating studies, primary equipment and system studies<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to produce clear technical reports<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of HVDC technology readiness levels and market trends<\/li>\n<li>Interest in professional networking and participation in industry bodies (e.g. CIGRE, IET, IEEE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in both onshore and offshore HVDC system design<\/li>\n<li>Experience with HVDC control and protection functions, including protection schemes, operating modes and interlocking<\/li>\n<li>Experience related to dispatch systems, condition monitoring and harmonic performance design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Agile working\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Mott MacDonald, we believe it makes business sense for you and your manager to choose how you can work most effectively to meet your client, team, and personal commitments.
