You\u2019ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, contributing to high-quality, safety-critical projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why This Role?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work on safety-critical, high-integrity projects<\/li>\n<li>Be involved in end-to-end hardware design, not just drawing updates<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with experienced engineers across electrical, control, and mechanical disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid working with flexibility around office days and working hours<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to build experience within a highly regulated engineering environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Be Doing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and develop electrical enclosures, control panels, and interface systems<\/li>\n<li>Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and design packages<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage:\n<ul>\n<li>General Assemblies<\/li>\n<li>I\/O schedules<\/li>\n<li>Cable calculations and routing<\/li>\n<li>Power load and heat calculations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Support design reviews, site visits, and engineering assessments<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are delivered to a high standard<\/li>\n<li>Produce supporting documentation including test specifications, installation method Statements, inspection reports, testing of manufactured equipment to associated drawings and quality records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We\u2019re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong experience using AutoCAD for electrical design<\/li>\n<li>Experience delivering EC&amp;I hardware design within engineering projects<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing control panels, MCCs, or electrical enclosures<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations and CDM Regulations<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of cable routing, panel layouts, and system integration<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills and ability to work within a project team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with PLC \/ HMI \/ SCADA systems<\/li>\n<li>Experience in regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, defence, pharma)<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508)<\/li>\n<li>AutoCAD proficient<\/li>\n<li>Design new and retrofit control panels, Motor Control Centres, Power distributions, Data Racks, HMI panels and machine interfaces (pushbuttons, lamps, switches)<\/li>\n<li>Generate panel designs \u2013 internal\/external GA\u2019s, I\/O Wiring, LV power distribution \u2013 for manufacture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can undertake design activities such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cable calcs \/ sizing<\/li>\n<li>Fuse sizing<\/li>\n<li>Load calcs<\/li>\n<li>Power\/Heat Calcs<\/li>\n<li>Component selection \/ arrangement<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with segregation (power\/control)<\/li>\n<li>I\/O interfacing \/ marshalling<\/li>\n<li>Familiar\/Certified BS 7671 Wiring Regs<\/li>\n<li>Carry out site inspections and survey<\/li>\n<li>SL experience \/ nuclear industry experience desirabl<\/li>\n<li>Sub-contractor manufacturing oversigh<\/li>\n<li>Installation instructions \/ Method Statements<\/li>\n<li>Risk Assessments<\/li>\n<li>Degree\/HNC (or equivalent experience) in Electrical \/ EC&amp;I Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the Role We\u2019re looking for an EC&amp;I Hardware Designer to support the delivery of complex control and automation systems within the nuclear sector.
