At Jones Engineering we have over 128 years\u2019 experience as a world class engineering contractor. Our core divisions include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection. Some of the other services we provide include Waste to Energy (BioEnergy), Specialist Lift, Off Site Fabrication, Technical Support Services, Maintenance, Asset Management, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Geo-Surveying.<\/p>\n

Currently we are delivering Data Centres for numerous DC clients across Ireland, UK and numerous other European locations. Our delivery on these projects varies from the full GC services to either the Mechanical, Electrical or Sprinkler packages although in most cases it would be a combined MEP model.<\/p>\n

\n

Job Description\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to continued expansion in our Data Centre division, Jones Engineering require a number of\u00a0Senior Quantity Surveyors\u00a0<\/strong>preferably with an MEP background although this is not essential to join the delivery teams for a number of Data Centre Projects across the Nordics.<\/strong>\u00a0These Data Centre Projects are in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious SQS to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior commercial team members based in Dublin.<\/p>\n

\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team<\/li>\n
  • Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management<\/li>\n
  • Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims<\/li>\n
  • Procurement – operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department<\/li>\n
  • Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account<\/li>\n
  • Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects<\/li>\n
  • Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting<\/li>\n
  • Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects<\/li>\n
  • Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and \/or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies<\/li>\n
  • To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same<\/li>\n
  • Manage the Commercial Team on site.<\/li>\n
  • All other duties associated with this role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Key Skills\/ Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying\/ Construction Economics<\/li>\n
    • Previous Data Centre experience preferable but not essential<\/li>\n
    • Minimum 7+ years’ experience post qualification essential<\/li>\n
    • Experience in either MEP or CSA project delivery required.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team<\/li>\n
    • Excellent IT Skills<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills<\/li>\n
