Write the next chapter of your ABB story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your role and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take your next career step at ABB and work in a global team that is driving the energy transition for a productive and sustainable future as Senior Power System Designer Engineer ABB Energy Industries\u2019 Power System Design &amp; Analysis Team spearheads the energy transition by developing sustainable and optimal electrical solutions for our customers.<\/p>\n<p>For this purpose, we are further growing our team with power system experts and experts-to-be. This opportunity will allow you to directly impact the design of some of the world\u2019s most complex electrical projects, leveraging ABB\u2019s enormous capacity and expertise in electrical and automation solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Main responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be\/become a key advisor on systems and technologies that are key for the energy transition, such hydrogen production, offshore wind, subsea electrical systems across the ABB organization<\/li>\n<li>Ensure power system integrity in close alignment with ABB deliveries. Develop power system, protection and control philosophies<\/li>\n<li>Perform design and calculation of power systems, such as load flow, short circuit, harmonics, dynamic and transient studies<\/li>\n<li>Assess grid codes and their impact on the power system design to ensure grid code compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Participate or lead electrical studies from early phase engineering to projects<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical expertise and advice on solutions \u2022 Support ABB customers in identifying electrical challenges and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Support ABB front end sales and market and account development teams<\/li>\n<li>Conduct technical discussions with equipment factories and support supply chain<\/li>\n<li>Participate and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team, provide support and direction for junior team members<\/li>\n<li>Participate in improvement initiatives relevant for the team<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present technical submissions for industry events and conferences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications for the role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The most important skills:<\/li>\n<li>Deep knowledge of electrical power system design, including industrial power systems, modelling of renewable energy sources, design and selection of compensation equipment, batteries, energy storage and other power electronic systems, power system control &amp; protection, and high voltage power transmission through cables<\/li>\n<li>Understanding how to assess the commercial impact of our electrical system design choices to design the best fit-for-purpose solution<\/li>\n<li>Team oriented and high ability to collaborate<\/li>\n<li>Interest to understand ABB\u2019s portfolio and use of new and existing technologies for the energy transition<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills to convey results in a simple and understandable way both orally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Structured and systematic<\/li>\n<li>Domain expertise in renewable energy systems, such as wind, solar, hydrogen, battery systems, microgrids and energy management, or subsea and offshore electrical equipment is advantageous for this position<\/li>\n<li>Open and curious to deploy new methods technologies such as generative AI, scripting, design thinking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MSc in electrical engineering<\/li>\n<li>Relevant experience from electrical power system design<\/li>\n<li>Strong oral and written communication skills in English and preferably Norwegian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>More about us<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We can offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Challenging and varied tasks within electrical engineering &amp; system design<\/li>\n<li>a positive environment with uplifting and highly competent colleagues<\/li>\n<li>A job in a profiled technological company, a global frontrunner with new technology<\/li>\n<li>Interaction with customers, excellent possibilities to learn and develop<\/li>\n<li>Flexible working hours, with balance between office work and travelling<\/li>\n<li>Global career opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Optional: Work from home up to 60%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Personnel safety is therefore important to ABB and our customers.
