Dornan is currently recruiting an\u00a0Mechanical Estimator\u00a0to support both our Office Team in Madrid and key\u00a0Dornan Projects.<\/p>\n

\n

Dornan is hiring on behalf of Turner Construction, a global leader in construction services, for a major data centre project in Europe.<\/p>\n

This is a unique opportunity to join one of the world’s most respected general contractors. While you’ll be hired and supported by Dornan, you will be placed directly on Turner’s project team, working alongside top-tier professionals on some of the most advanced builds in the region.<\/p>\n

Current roles are primarily based in Madrid, with future opportunities expected further afield in Europe. Depending on your role, you may be site-based (with relocation support if needed), or offered remote working options, which will be clarified during the interview process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The successful candidate will work in our Estimating Team ideally based out of Madrid, and will\u00a0support projects across all of our locations with travel to site will also be required as necessary.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Roles and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • To prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.<\/li>\n
  • Provide timely, accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates from enquiries stage to bid submission.<\/li>\n
  • Follow up on submitted tenders.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate equipment pricing with SourceBlue for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection estimates.<\/li>\n
  • Develop value analysis to define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems,\u00a0materials and equipment<\/li>\n
  • Analysis of sub-contractor and vendor quotations, checking inclusions and exclusions.<\/li>\n
  • Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, piping and sheet metal material, and other material pricing<\/li>\n
  • To deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentations.<\/li>\n
  • Serve as liaison with engineers, design consultants, trade partners, Turner staff, and owner’s representatives to resolve Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection issues related to the project preconstruction efforts<\/li>\n
  • Provide support and assistance to the wider estimating team.<\/li>\n
  • Attend tender and follow up meetings when required.<\/li>\n
  • All other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications & Experience:<\/strong><\/div>\n
      \n
    • Previous experience within construction industry<\/li>\n
    • Ideally Trade\/Degree qualified in a relevant discipline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
