We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated M&amp;E Design Manager to join the Egis Transport Solutions MEPHFC Design Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rail station building services design and coordination.<\/p>\n<p>As an M&amp;E Design Manager, you will be a senior member of the team and will be required to support the Associate Director, who leads the MEPHFC team. You will lead and manage Engineers and be responsible for the production and delivery of MEPHFC designs.\u00a0 We are looking for someone who\u2019s dedicated, diligent, and driven, and will take this challenge head on, being an important part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for providing a clear vision and team direction by leading a high-performing team through the effective management, development and empowerment of staff<\/li>\n<li>Manage internal and external resources to produce outputs\/deliverables in line with contract requirements and client expectations<\/li>\n<li>Establish and manage Technical Assurance processes, in line with project and client requirements, and rail industry norms and best practice<\/li>\n<li>Retain full control of project programmes, interrogate supply chain programmes and challenge slippage. Work collaboratively to develop and implement mitigation measures<\/li>\n<li>Manage CEM and CREs to ensure governance in compliance with NR-L2-RSE-02009 (Engineering Management for Projects)<\/li>\n<li>Set and maintain high standards in the production of design deliverables, ensuring information is clear and concise, and risk free. Nurturing a get it right first-time culture within the team<\/li>\n<li>Proactively review design documentation to ensure construction risks are mitigated at the design stage<\/li>\n<li>Manage the engineering team for production of design drawings, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with British Standards &amp; Eurocodes, across projects ranging from GRIP 1 to GRIP 5 \/ RIBA 2 to 5 \/ ES1-3.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the production and coordination of design information in a 3D environment to BIM Standards<\/li>\n<li>Manage CDM and CSM-REA requirements and processes, ensuring risks are mitigated As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)<\/li>\n<li>Produce and maintain design trackers<\/li>\n<li>Produce and issue meeting minutes recording key discussions and agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the production, issue and closure of RFI\u2019s and TQ\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Project Managers and Commercial Managers to produce and issue project communications e.g. EWN\u2019s and GC\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and manage engineering activities so they result in affordable solutions and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality<\/li>\n<li>Produce and issue progress reports and dashboards<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for the consistency of the deliverables across your projects<\/li>\n<li>Review, evaluate and implement rail industry standards to ensure compliance of the engineering deliverables to the standards<\/li>\n<li>Promote sustainable design and development<\/li>\n<li>Promotion and implementation of digital solutions and innovation across Egis projects<\/li>\n<li>Share knowledge, lessons learned, and innovation across Egis Group technical communities and projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"jobad-qualifications\"><strong>What do we need from you<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Member of an engineering institute and has Engineering Council Professional Registration<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Engineering \/ Technical functions, working in Design Management, with at least 2 years\u2019 experience in the rail industry<\/li>\n<li>Proven capability in managing design for rail projects, especially in multi-disciplinary environments<\/li>\n<li>Exemplary management skills with the ability to support, mentor and manage a project team of engineers and technicians<\/li>\n<li>Experience of multi-disciplinary design and coordination, and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stages<\/li>\n<li>Ability to find solutions to engineering problems<\/li>\n<li>Proven capability in managing design interfaces and integration processes<\/li>\n<li>Experience of design assurance requirements &amp; processes<\/li>\n<li>Accountable for reviewing and completion of DRN comments for WPP and Design Reviews, Form C\/Form G\/Form A\/B, or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of project scopes, requirements, works information, and excellent commercial awareness<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget<\/li>\n<li>Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience<\/li>\n<li>An ability to train and upskill team members<\/li>\n<li>Expert communication, organisation, and collaboration abilities<\/li>\n<li>Proficient at leading meetings and presenting to clients, stakeholders, colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers etc.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of MEPHFC systems from a technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintenance perspective<\/li>\n<li>Excellent engineering, analytical and problem-solving abilities<\/li>\n<li>Being committed to professional development, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in rail design and engineering, integrating them into project designs as appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Anthro joint venture between\u00a0Egis\u00a0and\u00a0VVB Engineering\u00a0will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London\u2019s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common.
