The Midland Metro Alliance is expanding the West Midlands tram network to improve connectivity, support economic growth, and provide more sustainable transport options. Key projects include the Birmingham Eastside and Westside extensions, and the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill extension.<\/p>\n

EGIS leads the Designer JV of the Alliance and is working in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver a groundbreaking mass transit system that catalyses sustainable growth and regeneration in the West Midlands. Our scope includes Concept, Preliminary and Detailed Design, Systems and sub-systems Integration, Engineering construction support, Safety Verification and Testing and Commissioning.<\/p>\n

We are looking to hire an experienced\u00a0Senior Landscape\u00a0<\/strong>Architect\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0join this project. You will be based in the\u00a0Birmingham Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the Role<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Professional Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • UK or international Light Rail Masterplanning and design standards<\/li>\n
  • Transport Masterplanning,<\/li>\n
  • Strategic and feasibility\/concept studies;<\/li>\n
  • Landscape and visual assessment (LVIA) for both linear and site-based projects;<\/li>\n
  • Townscape and visual assessment (TVIA);<\/li>\n
  • Environmental principles understanding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Being an integral part of a vibrant, ambitious and innovative team.<\/li>\n
    • Supporting the delivery of landscape-specific tasks within projects.<\/li>\n
    • Prepare technical information for landscape infrastructure, development and improvement projects, which may include:<\/li>\n
    • Preliminary\/sketch and detailed design to construction drawings, including general arrangement drawings, hard & soft construction detailing, schedules & specifications to support planning applications<\/li>\n
    • Support the continued development of our relationships with internal and external clients.<\/li>\n
    • Client-facing role, involving design advice, attending workshops and stakeholder events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

       <\/p>\n

      What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Experience delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments;<\/li>\n
      • Experience in the successful delivery of landscape and urban design projects desirable.<\/li>\n
      • Experience of managing landscape(soft and\u00a0 hard) design during the construction phase desirable, material selection and sustainability considerations<\/li>\n
      • Excellent technical skills (understanding local context, standards and policies and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley and Adobe Creative Suite<\/li>\n
      • Producing high-quality work within tight timescales and budgets.<\/li>\n
      • Excellent hand drawing and presentation skills<\/li>\n
      • Site Analysis: Evaluate existing site conditions, including interface with soil, drainage, and existing vegetation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

         <\/p>\n

        What do we need from you<\/strong><\/div>\n
          \n
        • BA and\u00a0<\/strong>Master’s in Landscape architecture with Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Software skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), AutoCAD, 3d modelling in Revit \/ Rhino \/ Sketch up, and GIS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
