Dornan\u2019s Electrical Engineering Graduate Programme<\/strong> offers graduates the unique opportunity to work on live projects<\/strong> alongside experienced engineers. As part of the programme, you will gain hands-on experience with low and medium voltage systems<\/strong>, busbar systems<\/strong>, general lighting<\/strong>, power distribution<\/strong>, diesel generators<\/strong>, and many more essential electrical systems.<\/p>\n

Our structured programme ensures that every graduate develops a deep understanding of all aspects of electrical engineering in a live construction environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

What You Will Be Doing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your role will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Assisting in the preparation of reports, feasibility studies, capital cost estimates, and project schedules<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Preparing material take-offs and tender documentation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Reviewing returned tenders and updating delivery schedules<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Managing RFIs (Requests for Information) to clarify design queries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Developing and monitoring project programmes using MS Project<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Producing progress reports and short-term lookahead plans<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Creating method statements and risk assessments with the construction team<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Maintaining contract variation registers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Preparing test packs and performing quality control through inspections and snagging<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Managing documentation, information flow, and communication<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Supporting financial control during the construction phase<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Coordinating with the client, design team, and subcontractors on technical issues<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What We\u2019re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Currently pursuing a Level 8 Electrical Engineering Degree<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Strong communication skills, both written and verbal<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Enthusiasm for learning, teamwork, and professional development<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Application Process<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Applications will be reviewed in autumn 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews in November and December 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Offers will be made in January and February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Successful graduates will begin their journey with Dornan in June 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
