A curious mind and an appetite for learning are essential to thrive in our consultancy environment.<\/p>\n<p>Dependent upon specific project requirements, there may be a requirement to travel to other locations (company or client, office, or site) within the UK and overseas for various periods of time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to and working with the Traction Power Team Leader, your day-to-day work will include a combination of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"2053\">\n<li data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1173\">Formulating scope of work, methodology and associate programme\/budget to support bids;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1258\">Undertake site surveys, asset records correlation and on-site record verification;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1348\">Prepare and\/or review technical reports, feasibility studies, option selection reports;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1469\">Undertake and\/or supervise power system modelling work (using ETAP and TRAIN, Mott MacDonald\u2019s multi-train simulator);<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1615\">Prepare and\/or review outline and detailed designs for AC and DC electrification schemes including distribution and electrical track equipment;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1616\" data-end=\"1677\">Undertake\/review earthing &amp; bonding and protection studies;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1787\">Provide input to other disciplines, including civils, SCADA LV Power, signalling and systems assurance etc;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1860\">Undertake construction sites, inspection, on site design verification;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1861\" data-end=\"1940\">Interface with clients (prepare and give presentations, chair meetings, etc);<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"2025\">Carry out bespoke technical investigation, which may require on-site measurements;<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2053\">Mentoring of junior staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate specification<\/strong><br data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2085\" \/><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2605\">\n<li data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2155\">Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar subject<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2156\" data-end=\"2242\">10+ years\u2019 experience in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in the rail industry<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2267\">Attained Chartership<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2268\" data-end=\"2317\">Experience of Electric track equipment design<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2318\" data-end=\"2365\">Experience of substation design (AC and DC)<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2420\">Experience in development of electrical protection<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2421\" data-end=\"2467\">Experience in HV and LV cable route design<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2468\" data-end=\"2605\">Experience of traction load flow modelling software and power system studies and\/or experience of EMC assurance applied to rail systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2621\" data-end=\"3048\">\n<li data-start=\"2621\" data-end=\"2668\">Experience of design independent assessment<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2669\" data-end=\"2748\">Appreciation of environmental issues associated with rail engineering works<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2749\" data-end=\"2853\">Good working knowledge and demonstrable experience of Network Rail and Transport for London projects<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2854\" data-end=\"3048\">IT skills: proficiency in usage of ETAP modelling software or similar, TRAIN simulation software or similar, BIM and associated CAD software package (AutoCAD, Bentley AECOsim and Microstation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are actively recruiting a diverse workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve.
