{"id":7852,"date":"2025-10-16T00:30:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T11:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=7852"},"modified":"2025-10-17T09:51:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:51:32","slug":"ge-vernova-hv-substation-commissioning-engineer","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&p=7852","title":{"rendered":"HV Substation Commissioning Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Remote within the UK or France, able to travel significantly to sites across Europe (approx. 90% travel)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"emphasis-3\">Summary:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all site commissioning and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality and in a manner that safeguards the environment.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all site commissioning activities are undertaken in full compliance with GE Grid and client policies and procedures, in addition to the UK and international legislation.<\/li>\n<li>Test, commission and service installed primary and secondary equipment during construction and in-service substation operations.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively execute projects in line with client and GE expectations, programmes and budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate on-site test records, reports and quality documentation are created, maintained and circulated in accordance with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively work alongside other assigned staff as part of a team to successfully deliver projects.<\/li>\n<li>Travel throughout UK and globally as and when required. Estimated 90% travel requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work on offshore windfarms.<\/li>\n<li>Full UK \/ EU driving license required. A company car will be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"emphasis-3\">Responsibilities &amp; Accountabilities:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Effective and efficient testing and commissioning of substation equipment, ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Execution of day-to-day commissioning activities to successfully achieve on time delivery of assigned projects.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the preparation, creation and issue of site documentation including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement), NCR\u2019s (Non-conformance Report), TQ\u2019s (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Communicating site non-compliances and or deviations to the Site Manager &amp; Project Engineer.<\/li>\n<li>Reports to the Site Manager \/ Project Manager and Commissioning Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Enacting the role of LV Authorised Person in accordance with requirements of the GE LV Safe System of Work (LVSSOW) procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Comply\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0GE\u00a0code\u00a0of\u00a0ethics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"emphasis-3\">Requirements:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education\/Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s\u00a0degree\u00a0in\u00a0Electrical\u00a0Engineering \/\u00a0HND\u00a0in\u00a0Electrical\u00a0Engineering\u00a0or\u00a0Equivalent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific\u00a0Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience knowledge\u00a0of\u00a0Substation\u00a0Protection\u00a0Systems\u00a0and\u00a0equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Testing &amp;\u00a0Commissioning of\u00a0HV\u00a0and\u00a0LV\u00a0Switchgear\u00a0and\u00a0Equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Fault\u00a0finding on\u00a0protection schemes\u00a0and\u00a0equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0experience\u00a0of\u00a0Construction\u00a0and\u00a0Field\u00a0Services site\u00a0work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0testing\u00a0and\u00a0commissioning\u00a0of\u00a0HV\u00a0Power systems\u00a0equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Experience\u00a0in\u00a0activities\u00a0related\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0testing\u00a0and validation of\u00a0an\u00a0equipment,\u00a0facility\u00a0or\u00a0plant\u00a0in\u00a0accordance\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0design objectives or\u00a0specifications\u00a0for operational\u00a0use.<\/li>\n<li>Experience\u00a0in\u00a0SCADA\u00a0systems\u00a0as\u00a0well\u00a0as\u00a0technical skills\u00a0using\u00a0PC \/\u00a0DS\u00a0Agile\/\u00a0Aview software.<\/li>\n<li>Experience\u00a0in\u00a0communication\u00a0with\u00a0Protection\u00a0and\u00a0control system\u00a0as\u00a0well\u00a03rd\u00a0party IEDs\u00a0system\u00a0integration.<\/li>\n<li>Site\u00a0experience,\u00a0working\u00a0at\u00a0height\u00a0and\u00a0working\u00a0in a\u00a0construction\u00a0environment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of\u00a0the\u00a0Construction\u00a0(Design\u00a0and\u00a0Management)\u00a0Regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability\u00a0to\u00a0communicate\u00a0effectively,\u00a0both\u00a0internally\u00a0and\u00a0externally.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated\u00a0experience\u00a0in\u00a0testing\u00a0and\u00a0Commissioning\u00a0of substation\u00a0equipment\u00a0(Generation,\u00a0transmission\u00a0and\u00a0distribution).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0experience\u00a0of\u00a0working\u00a0in a\u00a0HV\u00a0Substation\u00a0environment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0experience\u00a0of\u00a0working\u00a0on\u00a0Offshore\u00a0Windfarm\u00a0environments.<\/li>\n<li>Good\u00a0knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0experience\u00a0of IEC61850\u00a0protocol,\u00a0Modbus, IEC101, IEC\u00a0104\u00a0and\u00a0IEC103.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge &amp;\u00a0experience of\u00a0GE\u00a0Micom\u00a0and\u00a0Multilin\u00a0products\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0an\u00a0added\u00a0advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge\u00a0and\u00a0experience\u00a0working\u00a0with\u00a0various\u00a0test\u00a0equipment
