Initially, the focus will be on sourcing, analyzing, and challenging third-party forecasting providers. Over time, this capability is expected to expand to include developing our own input assumptions for external forecasts and potentially building an in-house modelling capability.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"532\">Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"1656\">\n<li data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"660\">Lead relationship management with third-party forecast and market data providers, including procurement responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"762\">Challenge third-party forecast providers on their outputs, identifying and addressing weaknesses.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"949\">Critically assess:\n<ul data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"949\">\n<li data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"810\">Input assumptions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"887\">Consistency of methodology and assumptions across different forecasts.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"949\">Consistency of assumptions within individual forecasts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"1048\">Improve market awareness within stakeholder groups by providing market updates and commentary.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1178\">Drive the evolution of team capability from reliance on third-party providers to developing an in-house modelling capability.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1509\">Support the production of key inputs for JERA Nex bp investment decisions, covering:\n<ul data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1509\">\n<li data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1323\">Financial assumptions (interest rates, FX, etc.).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1326\" data-end=\"1401\">Energy market curves (gas, baseload power, offshore wind capture rate).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1509\">Capacity build-out (offshore wind, other generation technologies, storage capacity, demand capacity).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1510\" data-end=\"1656\">Evaluate input from regional commercialisation leads and use sound judgment to challenge or integrate market-facing insights into forecasting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1679\">Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"2489\">\n<li data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"1759\">Degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably economics or engineering.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1760\" data-end=\"1891\">5+ years of experience in energy markets within consulting, utilities, or investment sectors, with a focus on renewable energy.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"1993\">Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2083\">Proficiency in analytical and data manipulation tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2196\">Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into key insights.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2197\" data-end=\"2289\">Demonstrated ability to evolve team capabilities and develop best practices proactively.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2290\" data-end=\"2372\">Experience gained within a top-tier energy market consultancy is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2489\">Intellectual curiosity and confidence to challenge assumptions and third-party curve providers on their outputs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong data-start=\"2491\" data-end=\"2523\">What You Can Expect from Us:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2526\" data-end=\"2837\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\n<li data-start=\"2526\" data-end=\"2625\">A collaborative and inclusive work culture, with space for team-building and social activities.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2626\" data-end=\"2729\">Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home, with regular in-person collaboration.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2730\" data-end=\"2837\" data-is-last-node=\"\">Opportunities for career growth and professional development within a fast-growing international company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why This Role Matters: As part of the Investments Team and reporting to the Head of Commercialisation &amp;
