In your new role as Project Commercial Manager<\/strong>, you will play a crucial part in enhancing project commercial outcomes and driving best practices across multiple frameworks. Using your expertise in consultancy, engineering construction contracts, programme, and change management, you will support and guide Project Managers (PMs) in commercial matters \u2014 mitigating risks, managing change, minimising lost margin, and improving overall project performance and client satisfaction.<\/p>\n

You will report to the Commercial Manager of Water<\/strong> and work under the direction of the Business Unit Operations Director<\/strong> and commercial team, supporting a range of water-related infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n

\n

Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll do:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Collaborate<\/strong> \u2013 Assist PMs, Project Directors, and Lead Verifiers in the commercial management of projects to ensure successful delivery.<\/p>\n

Provide Expertise<\/strong> \u2013 Apply your knowledge of contract and risk management to improve project performance. Focus on key aspects such as contract communications, change management, programme, delay damages, key contract dates, and insurances. Conduct detailed analyses of challenged projects and report findings from both commercial and financial perspectives.<\/p>\n

Ensure Quality<\/strong> \u2013 Use contract administration platforms (e.g., CEMAR, Asite) to manage client communications and instructions. Rigorously oversee change management processes with attention to commercial implications and risk mitigation.<\/p>\n

Oversee<\/strong> \u2013 Participate in project reviews and commercial discussions with clients and suppliers. Ensure subcontract documents are prepared on a back-to-back basis to protect AECOM\u2019s commercial position.<\/p>\n

Mentor<\/strong> \u2013 Coach and guide technical staff to strengthen their commercial understanding and practices.<\/p>\n

Deliver<\/strong> \u2013 Work to reduce disallowed costs and efficiently manage expenditures across AECOM and its subcontractors or supply chain. Contribute to Go\/No-Go<\/strong> documentation for new projects or significant project changes.<\/p>\n

  • Water Treatment Plants<\/strong> \u2013 Design and construct facilities to ensure drinking water meets safety and quality standards.<\/li>\n
  • Wastewater Treatment Plants<\/strong> \u2013 Develop systems to treat wastewater before safe environmental discharge.<\/li>\n
  • Flood Risk Management<\/strong> \u2013 Implement flood defence and stormwater systems to protect communities.<\/li>\n
  • Water Supply Systems<\/strong> \u2013 Plan and build pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations for clean water distribution.<\/li>\n
  • Hydraulic Modelling<\/strong> \u2013 Use advanced software to simulate water flow and optimise infrastructure design.<\/li>\n
  • River and Coastal Engineering<\/strong> \u2013 Enhance and protect riverbanks and coastlines through sustainable design.<\/li>\n
  • Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)<\/strong> \u2013 Design and implement urban runoff management solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Desalination Projects<\/strong> \u2013 Develop facilities converting seawater into potable water to combat scarcity.<\/li>\n
  • Water Resource Management<\/strong> \u2013 Create sustainable strategies for water conservation and quality monitoring.<\/li>\n
