{"id":8155,"date":"2025-11-10T00:30:57","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T12:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=8155"},"modified":"2025-11-12T08:31:05","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T07:31:05","slug":"iberdrola-group-design-manager-cables-cambuslang-glasgow","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/en\/?post_type=job_listing&p=8155","title":{"rendered":"Design Manager &#8211; Cables"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Be Doing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Design Manager you will be responsible person for Cable Engineering design in the South or West regions within the SPT Core Projects business to deliver projects with Totex value of \u00a3200m\/annum to over \u00a3500m\/annum by 2027.<\/p>\n<p>You will have Line management responsibility for a number of FTE Engineers (Lead, Senior and Design).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities Include<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall responsibility for ensuring Cable Engineering deliverables in the allocated (West or South) region being managed are delivered on time and in line with the required SPT Standards and Policies.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and manage a group of professional engineers to deliver cost effective end to end design solutions within West or South transmission projects\/programmes and ensuring regulatory financial allowances.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other team leaders to address coordination. Collaboration will be required across different regions and functions to deliver satisfactory change outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all HSEQ policies are applied and compliance with all Engineering policies, standards and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Support Standardised design solutions to drive efficiency and design consistency across the SPT business.<\/li>\n<li>Leading a group of professional engineers to deliver Cable projects.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adequate training, coaching and mentoring is in place to further advance the knowledge, skills and experience of the team.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver performance management for a team of professional engineers.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the technical resolution of site\/construction Cable related issues.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for the technical resolution of site \/ construction Cable issues, analyse common faults and prevent re-occurrence.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure specifications, Cable designs, equipment and construction practices are in accordance with current legislation, policies and operational requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Bring<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or 10 years equivalent experience<\/li>\n<li>Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards).<\/li>\n<li>Building and applying knowledge skills. Technical Oversight and management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in designing Cable Systems for large electrical infrastructure projects.<\/li>\n<li>People and communication skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with key stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to implement, apply and promote CDM and Health &amp; Safety best practice in a design environment<\/li>\n<li>Experience on the implementation of new technologies and engineering solutions to achieve reductions in costs and carbon sustainable projects<\/li>\n<li>Broad thinking skills.<\/li>\n<li>Having the ability and understanding of the plant and equipment deployed for transmission networks and how it is operated \/ maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing a team of professional engineers.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to plan and engineer conflicting requirements and meet challenging deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience to provide on-site technical solutions to unforeseen engineering problems that mitigate program slippage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s In It For You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
