Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\nThis is an opportunity for an experienced planner to join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the supply of Transducer and Thermal products at Instron, based in High Wycombe.<\/p>\n
This role is primarily responsible for planning and managing the supply of parts and assemblies predominantly for Transducer and Thermal products (T&T) to customers both internal and external. In addition, this role will also ensure that products procured from suppliers meet set quality standards and specifications.<\/p>\n
Key Tasks & Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\nPlanning:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \n
Raise internal works orders and purchasing requirements to drive material through the supply chain to achieve on-time performance and Month on Hand (MoH) targets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Consolidate internal and external delivery commitments into one agreed order schedule, in line with customer expectations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Collaborate with Operations Manager (T&T) to provide real-time information on production priorities, material supply and (on\/behind target output data).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Process Engineering Change Orders, Custom Bill of Materials (BoM) releases and new product introductions into existing production plans.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Provide accurate, timely and concise feedback to keep key stakeholders appraised of forecasting and delivery performance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Participate in the ongoing improvement of manufacturing data accuracy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Maintain planning procedures and best practice to ensure continuity of supply (safety stock, MoH targets), production and delivery in areas of responsibility.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Work with cell leaders to maintain data integrity in the ERP system; to enable KPI reporting on WIP monitoring, Work Centre utilisation, planning and customer backlogs, lead time\/schedule attainment etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Liaise on a weekly basis with UK cell leaders and US site stakeholders to communicate demand patterns and work with Supply Chain to identify any supply risks affecting customer shipments & line stops.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Participate in Lean manufacturing projects and initiatives in support of the High Wycombe business.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Schedule and manage Fast spares orders for the High Wycombe site.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Support and cover for planning and management of sales RMA\u2019s i.e. physical return of parts for repair \u2013 from receipt of request to return to customer as required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Supplier Quality:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \n
Monitor and evaluate supply chain processes to ensure product quality of parts supplied to Instron.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Collaborate with external suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Develop and maintain quality control standards and procedures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Create and present reports on quality performance metrics.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Conduct supplier audits and assessments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Work closely with internal teams to align quality standards and objectives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Key Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \n
Demonstrable ability to assess and prioritise deliverables to meet set deadlines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Knowledge of ERP-based MRP systems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Knowledge and expertise with Excel and data manipulation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Analytical and methodical, with high attention to accuracy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Good communication skills, both internal and external.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \n
Level 4 or above qualification in Manufacturing Planning or equivalent, desirable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Certification in Supply Chain Operations or Supplier Quality, desirable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Minimum of a BTEC, City & Guild or Apprenticeship at Level 3 in a Planning, Supply Chain or Manufacturing discipline, with relevant Planning experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Key Experiences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- \n
Experience in a manufacturing planning environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Experience gained in a quality assurance or supply chain role.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
