They will also be responsible for developing and managing the Environmental Management System within the site in High Wycombe.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"538\" data-end=\"570\">Key Tasks &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"2423\">\n<li data-start=\"573\" data-end=\"748\">Manage the current SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) management systems, ensuring all areas of the business maintain and improve compliance with SHE legal requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"796\">Lead the work of the Instron SHE Committee.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"970\">Develop improved SHE policy proposals, procedures and work instructions in conjunction with appropriate managers, for consideration by senior managers where appropriate.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1171\">Ensure detailed risk assessments are carried out, reviewed and maintained for all areas, processes and substances. Provide training to others on how to conduct suitable and sufficient assessments.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1353\">Work with Instron\u2019s management to ensure adequate training and education on SHE issues is provided to all levels of employees. Identify, deliver and evaluate SHE training needs.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1472\">Monitor the effectiveness of the SHE management systems including conducting audits of SHE procedures and records.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1548\">Provide SHE advice and support on site projects, layouts and processes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"1735\">Investigate all reported accidents and incidents and report any occurrence under RIDDOR regulations to the relevant authorities, escalating internally as required by Instron process.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1872\">Champion continuous improvement in the behaviour and routine activities of employees to improve the safety culture of the workplace.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1873\" data-end=\"1989\">Represent the organisation with external agencies such as the Health and Safety Executive or Environment Agency.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2128\">Monitor the site\u2019s hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal to confirm that it is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2129\" data-end=\"2298\">Manage Fire Safety across the whole site, liaising with department managers to ensure they adhere to the risk-assessed requirements in their areas of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2299\" data-end=\"2423\">Provide SHE advice and support to the Field-Based Organisation, including site visits and risk assessments for vehicles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2445\">Key Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2879\">\n<li data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2549\">Strong project management skills with appropriate follow-up to ensure accountability for actions.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2550\" data-end=\"2659\">Ability to motivate and engage people at all levels to prioritise SHE issues and take action as required.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2660\" data-end=\"2760\">Experience in designing, delivering and evaluating SHE training\/coaching to all levels of staff.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2761\" data-end=\"2879\">Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong data-start=\"2881\" data-end=\"2899\">Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2902\" data-end=\"3050\">\n<li data-start=\"2902\" data-end=\"2989\">Hold the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3050\">An appropriate Environmental qualification is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong data-start=\"3052\" data-end=\"3071\">Key Experiences<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3074\" data-end=\"3395\">\n<li data-start=\"3074\" data-end=\"3252\">Relevant experience in managing SHE, with excellent knowledge of SHE legislation and previous roles as a H&amp;S Competent Person within a manufacturing\/engineering organisation.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3253\" data-end=\"3395\">Demonstrated solid understanding of H&amp;S principles and legislation, best practices of adoption, risk assessments and safe systems of work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description The successful candidate will be the qualified Health &amp;
