This position is essential for guaranteeing the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of electrical installation activities across <strong>UK projects<\/strong>, with a particular focus on substation environments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee and verify the design, installation, and commissioning of HV equipment and AIS for electrical construction projects.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support during the tendering stage, ensuring accurate work sequencing, realistic durations, and technical feasibility for electrical installation activities.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary technical reference for design verification and on\u2011site electrical works application.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate effectively between engineering, HSE, and site teams to ensure seamless execution of electrical installations and adherence to project requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain procedures and workflows specific to HV equipment and AIS installation.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) procedures for Impressed Voltage (IV) management across all capital plan works\/projects, including identifying, assessing, and controlling IV hazards throughout design and delivery stages to maintain a safe system of work within CDM\u2011controlled areas.<\/li>\n<li>Review and produce electrical installation documentation, including:<\/li>\n<li>o Method Statements for HV and AIS installation<\/li>\n<li>o Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)<\/li>\n<li>o Impressed Voltage Management Plan (IVMP)<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with National Grid standards and relevant technical procedures (TPs, Ts, and SR) for HV installations.<\/li>\n<li>Travel to project sites across the UK as required to support and supervise electrical works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in electrical engineering works, with a focus on HV substations and AIS installation.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable expertise in the installation, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment and AIS systems.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of National Grid technical procedures, safety requirements, and electrical installation standards.<\/li>\n<li>In\u2011depth knowledge of relevant electrical standards (such as BS and IEC) and industry regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in producing and reviewing electrical construction documentation, test plans, and Installation procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Robust primary electrical engineering background with a proven track record of site implementation and leadership, delivering successful outcomes through effective team management and proactive resolution of on\u2011site challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of secondary equipment and connections.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional writing and documentation skills to ensure all procedures, workflows, and records are clear, accurate, and maintained for project execution and compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in industry\u2011standard electrical design and documentation software (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project), document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in digital workflow tools for efficient project deliver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What we offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hybrid working model<\/li>\n<li>Competitive salary and performance -based incentives<\/li>\n<li>25 days holiday entitlement + statutory and public holidays + additional 3 days holiday available on our purchase scheme<\/li>\n<li>Car allowance , Employee assistance program and career progression<\/li>\n<li>Industry leading contributory pension scheme up to 10%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are seeking an Electrical Installations Lead Engineer specialising in high\u2011voltage (HV) equipment and Air\u2011Insulated Switchgear (AIS) installation.
