They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the accounting discipline. The Senior Accountant solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Accountant impacts a range of customers, operational, project, or service activities with the accounting team and other related teams and ensures that they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare various general ledger entries for month-end close<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of documentation for external and internal auditors to assist in quarterly and year-end audit procedures<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with the area project team and finance departments to ensure smooth month-end close<\/li>\n<li>Assist in accounting analysis and ad hoc projects, as needed<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with internal controls<\/li>\n<li>Complete and submit all non-tax-related Government Reports<\/li>\n<li>Support Financial Reporting Seniors in identifying process improvement opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Provide cross-functional assistance to\u202fexternal financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the coordination and execution of internal financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Maintain automated financial statements and other financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all aspects of the global consolidation of the Company&#8217;s operating entities through HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) reporting applications, including consolidation entries, foreign currency, intercompany transactions and reconciliations, and the elimination process<\/li>\n<li>Analyze intercompany, clearing, and suspense accounts to ensure they are recorded and eliminated appropriately every month<\/li>\n<li>Originate and process journal entries<\/li>\n<li>Assist in implementing consolidation-related process improvement initiatives and prepare ad hoc financial analyses as required for management and in support of financial reporting requirements<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with external auditors in annual audits and quarterly reviews<\/li>\n<li>Prepare stand-alone consolidated financial statements for regulatory or compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Validate receipts through a relational database management system (Oracle)<\/li>\n<li>Work on database systems (SPM\/Hexagon to Oracle) Integration project<\/li>\n<li>Validate PO (Purchase Order) line coding<\/li>\n<li>Validate legal entity in POs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Essential Qualifications and Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Qualified CIMA, ACCA, or Chartered Accountant (Passed all exams in the first attempt)<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical accounting knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work extended work hours as necessary for monthly closings.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Excellent organizational skills and pay attention to detail, including neatness and organization of work papers<\/li>\n<li>Effective in a dynamic environment, adapting to and managing change positively and proactively<\/li>\n<li>Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Effective interaction with financial reporting, regulatory reporting, internal auditors, and external auditors<\/li>\n<li>Ability to remain positive, professional, calm, and focused when faced with challenging situations<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate in Microsoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8986\" src=\"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter.png 1920w, https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter-300x47.png 300w, https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter-1024x160.png 1024w, https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter-768x120.png 768w, https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter-1536x240.png 1536w, https:\/\/jobtek.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/MCDermottFooter-1200x188.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Overview: The Senior Accountant uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the accounting discipline within McDermott.
