At TechnipFMC we are now recruiting for a Non-Metallic Materials Principal Engineer in Krakow,\u00a0Aberdeen and Dunfermline\u00a0to support technically the New Product Development and Product Life Maintenance activities linked to TechnipFMC products lines, including Rigid Pipeline systems.<\/p>\n

The CoE Non-Metallic Materials Principal Engineer shall provide technical inputs on topics related to rigid pipeline anti-corrosion coatings, insulation coatings, field joint coatings including material selection and manufacturing processes.<\/p>\n

In line with Core Technologies transverse mission, technical support related to other usages of non-metallics in rigid pipeline and in other TechnipFMC product lines is expected. Support to Projects (pre & post award), Manufacturing Units and Supply Chain is also required as appropriate.<\/p>\n

This is an exciting role for an individual, to lead, face new challenges and expand their network. Sitting within the Core Technologies\u00a0Centre of Expertise Non-Metallic Group, the successful candidate will gain access to a worldwide network of information, expertise and experiences providing the opportunity to develop new skills and acquire knowledge to become a Subject Matter Expert in their field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

  • \u00a0 Provide technical support on non-metallic materials for Rigid Pipeline Technologies projects, focusing on anti-corrosion and insulation coatings.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Conduct material assessments and testing for qualification and project needs.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and Gate review approvals.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Develop and maintain documentation related to coatings and ensure compliance with project and client specifications.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Support fabrication and supply chain teams to ensure high-quality project execution.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Participate in non-conformance investigations and root cause analyses.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Collaborate with legal, procurement, and IP teams to secure necessary agreements.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Prepare technical reports, guidelines, procedures, and specifications.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Stay updated on coating technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and R&D.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and in technical publications.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Act as a consultant on materials engineering across product lines.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Conduct supplier technical audits and deliver training sessions.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Deepen product knowledge through research, analysis, and expert consultation.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Support CoE materials initiatives for simplification, standardization, and industrialization.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Ensure safety and compliance in material development and application.<\/li>\n
  • \u00a0\u00a0Deliver work efficiently and in line with design rules and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
      \n
    • BEng\/BSc and MSc\/MRes in Materials Science or equivalent.<\/li>\n
    • Strong expertise in non-metallic materials, especially anti-corrosion and insulation coatings for rigid pipelines (necessary).<\/li>\n
    • Beneficial experience in offshore\/subsea industry and lean best practices.<\/li>\n
    • Up-to-date industry knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.<\/li>\n
    • Eagerness to learn and grow into a subject matter expert.<\/li>\n
    • Proven ability to manage workload, take ownership, and support team performance.<\/li>\n
    • Cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills.<\/li>\n
    • Strategic and tactical thinking.<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n
    • Decision-making, prioritization, and self-development skills.<\/li>\n
    • Project management experience.<\/li>\n
    • Supplier audit and process improvement orientation.<\/li>\n
    • PhD in materials science can be considered as a plus.<\/li>\n
