Key Responsibilities
In consultation with the Chief Engineer, responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance work on the Electrical & Instrumentation systems and nautical instruments on board.
Communicating effectively with all departments on board.
Assisting in watch keeping routines at desired time by the Chief Engineer.
Providing electronical assistance towards engine room department and bridge personnel. Is responsible for his own safety during maintenance duties.
Executing all engine room duties which needs to comply to the rules and regulations laid down by the flag state administration, class, IMO, and port state authorities or other legislative requirements (e.g. ISPS & MLC policies).
Be knowledgeable of operation and maintenance of all lifesaving appliances, fixed firefighting installation, operation of emergency stops devices and shipboard emergency equipment mounted on board.
Participating during safety meetings & drills or emergency situations as member of the emergency response team.
Be familiar with the vessel’s operations manuals and FMEA as currently updated.
Executing safe and efficient test, maintenance, and repairs on all the ship’s machinery, electrical equipment and systems which are operating in an efficient manner to remain safe navigation, DP mode and safe walk-to-work operation.
Understanding the DP/walk-to-work failure modes and the technical consequences of any equipment failure and optimization of the redundancy available in related equipment required.
Assisting & complying with internal or external survey audits, by inspection and verification of items of ship’s machinery & equipment, to maintain the vessel’s class.
Scheduling repairs and enter all work carried out in planned maintenance system.
Technical and administrative management of the Electrical & Instrumentation systems and keep an inventory of and optimize the stock of spare parts.
Knowledge of the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (Acta Marine HSE standard).

Who are we looking for?
Qualifications & Experience
Certification according to relevant STCW Code (III/6) and Flag State regulations.
Minimum 3 years of Diesel Electric and DP experience as ETO.
Experience with mission equipment such as W2W gangways and motion-compensated offshore cranes is preferred.
Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems, particularly MARAD, is a plus.
