As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving commercial performance and ensuring the financial success of multiple projects within the framework. You’ll work collaboratively with senior leadership, project teams, and supply chain partners to deliver value, manage risk, and support the continued growth of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining effective communication with the Framework Director, Regional Commercial Manager, and Senior Commercial Manager, ensuring strong alignment with project management and other key disciplines.
• Enhancing the profile and performance of commercial services across the framework through proactive leadership and collaboration.
• Managing all aspects of commercial team performance, including:
  • Succession planning and recruitment
  • Staff development and competency management
  • Performance reviews and behavioural leadership
  • Team structure and resource allocation
• Building and maintaining productive relationships with supply chain partners, including key subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring commercial audits are carried out, reviewed, and actioned to improve compliance and efficiency.
• Acting as a commercial liaison with clients and client representatives, fostering trust and transparency.
• Providing commercial guidance to project teams, contributing to commercial discussions, strategic planning, and project performance reviews.
• Managing and supporting Project Commercial Managers in the preparation of:
  • Monthly cost and value reconciliations (CVRs)
  • Quarterly forecasts
  • Cash flow reporting
  • Company-tied costs
• Supporting dispute resolution and insurance claim negotiations, ensuring robust management of commercial risks and claims.
• Overseeing the engagement of legal and commercial consultants, agreeing terms and monitoring performance.
• Reviewing and providing input into subcontract documentation, including vetting of commercial terms and conditions.

Who Are We Looking For?

Necessary:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in this role.
• Strong understanding of Joint Venture (JV) frameworks, with the ability to operate collaboratively and diplomatically.
• Membership of, or working toward, a professional institution (e.g., ICES, RICS, or equivalent).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an open and collaborative leadership style.
• Educated to degree level in a relevant field such as Commercial Management, Construction, or Project Management (preferred but not essential).
