Making Possible
As a Project HSE Advisor, you will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across our projects. You’ll ensure our sites operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legal and company requirements — while helping to foster a strong safety-first culture throughout the organisation.

Your Responsibilities

• Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on site.
• Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
• Ensure that the project is provided with all relevant HSE documentation and that project plans meet company standards.
• Ensure HSE issues are discussed and actioned at project review meetings.
• Maintain accurate and transparent records in line with internal and external audit requirements.
• Assist site managers and subcontractor representatives with risk assessments, subcontractor evaluations, and documentation reviews as needed.
• Deliver HSE training sessions as agreed with the Project Manager.
• Stay informed on all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
• Communicate, demonstrate, and promote the BAM HSE ethos, values, and best practices.
• Act as a role model for safe behaviour and drive a proactive safety culture on site.
• Liaise with relevant legal authorities (e.g. H.S.A, EPA) when required.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all legal requirements, particularly relating to the PSCS role and duties.
• Lead and support accident and incident investigations, ensuring detailed reports are submitted to the HSE & Sustainability Manager with findings and recommendations.
• Provide quarterly HSE data and performance updates to the HSE Department.
• Carry out other HSE-related duties as required to support project and company goals.

What You Bring to the Role

• Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety
• Minimum 3 years’ successful postgraduate experience in Project HSE Management
• Thorough knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Working towards Graduate Membership of IOSH
• Proven ability to deliver internal health and safety management training
• Strong capability to advise on day-to-day HSE issues across project sites
• Competence in conducting accident and incident investigations
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce detailed HSE reports

Desirable:

• Qualification in Environmental Management
• Lead Auditor qualification
