Making Possible
As a Project HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management across our projects. You will be responsible for implementing company HSE policies, driving a positive safety culture, and promoting best practices throughout all project activities.

Your Responsibilities

• Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on site.
• Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
• Ensure all projects are provided with the necessary HSE documentation.
• Confirm that project-specific HSE plans meet company standards.
• Ensure HSE issues are discussed and addressed at project review meetings.
• Maintain clear and accurate records to comply with internal and external audit standards.
• Assist project management teams and subcontractors with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews.
• Deliver HSE training sessions as agreed with the Project Manager.
• Identify and communicate incident prevention initiatives to the Project Manager / HSE & Sustainability Manager.
• Support the Project Manager in investigating incidents and developing corrective actions.
• Keep up to date with current HSE legislation and industry best practice.
• Communicate, demonstrate, and promote the BAM HSE ethos, values, and culture.
• Act as a role model for safe behaviour and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with relevant legal authorities (e.g. H.S.A, EPA) where required.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, especially regarding the PSCS role and duties.
• Attend relevant HSE meetings as required.
• Prepare and submit HSE reports in the agreed format.
• Identify opportunities for HSE improvement and submit recommendations for review.
• Assist managers with safety and environmental submissions, risk assessments, and vendor evaluations.

What do you bring to the role?

• Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety
• 6 years of successful postgraduate experience in Project HSE Management
• Proven experience as a Project HSE Advisor
• Thorough knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Graduate membership of IOSH
• Ability to advise up to Operations Director level on complex health and safety matters
• Strong capability in delivering internal HSE management training
• Excellent written skills with the ability to prepare detailed HSE reports

Desirable:

• Qualification in Environmental Management
• Lead Auditor qualification
