Making Possible As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
Maintaining high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policy.
Ensuring effective communication within your team and across the wider project.
Managing, supervising, and mentoring your direct reports.
Providing commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting, and input into subcontract documents.
Overseeing the commercial management of subcontractors, including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving disputed issues through negotiation where appropriate.
Ensuring the timely production of reliable cost performance data.
Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
Managing change control, ensuring adherence to contractual timescales and notice requirements.
Ensuring compliance with the Risk and Opportunity Management Protocol and advising the management team accordingly.
Producing timely and accurate applications for payment in accordance with contract provisions.
Attending and contributing to all site commercial meetings, providing commercial advice and guidance to the site team.
Managing your own and your team’s time and workloads in a structured and efficient manner.
What do you bring to the role?
Required:
Proven experience at Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level, demonstrating strong commercial skills.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, project managers, and designers.
Confidence and ability to work effectively within a team environment, influencing positive outcomes.
A proactive and supportive attitude, with a willingness to assist and mentor others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Desirable:
Experience in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).
Experience working under NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract.
Familiarity with target cost contracts.
Previous MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) experience.
Working towards CICES membership or an equivalent professional qualification.
