Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. Job Summary
The Senior Pipe & Valve Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing plant design and piping work requirements The candidate’s technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved. Essential duties include reviewing and generating pipe and piping components, related calculations and material evaluations, in addition to preparation and execution of material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves and supports, and other piping components. This position has technical responsibility producing licensing documents, interfacing with regulators and designers, maintaining the safety case and preparing reports. This position will report to the Plant Design & Piping Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS) on the project and will work in coordination with other engineering disciplines to develop licensing and design documents. This position will require travel to USA for additional training for 30 days or more.
Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Warsaw, Poland office. Part-Time telework flexibility may be an option as the project progresses.
