Key Responsibilities:
Provide MEPF support to Clients CM team, GC team, and MEPF subcontractors on client data centre builds
Interface with GC/Client & MEPF Contractors, Clients CM, Clients DE, Clients Security, Client & MEP Consultants, Clients Cx, Local Authorities, and other stakeholders as required
Foster a team approach to project delivery and encourage professional development within the team
Review IFC design for design issues, improvements, and potential local alternatives with better lead times
Assess incoming design change directives for impact on MEP works and determine schedule implications
Provide technical support to MEPF contractors on systems, clarifying client expectations and installation practices
Review alternative technical proposals from MEPF contractors for client acceptability prior to formal submission
Track and monitor MEPF shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals, supporting reviewers as needed
Attend and lead project Lean Last Planning Sessions
Assist Planning Department with defining and tracking equipment delivery dates for MEPF contractors and OFCI Vendors
Coordinate the sequence of MEPF works on behalf of the GC
Track, monitor, and report daily MEPF progress, including manpower and equipment deployment
Review progress against resources and forecast future resource requirements to meet/recover schedule
Advise MEPF contractors on long lead equipment handling, installation, and commissioning
Ensure MEPF contractor-provided equipment for installations and testing is secured in advance
Review quality of MEPF installations during work in progress to minimise reworks
Communicate client best practices and standards to MEPF teams
Close out contractor comments and non-conformance reports
Review MEPF contractors’ ITPs, inspection notices, pre-commissioning and commissioning plans with the commissioning manager
Provide guidance on installation and coordination at site
Determine acceptable deviations from design/shop drawings
Coordinate with LLE vendors for equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning
Verify reported vs actual progress at site to ensure contractors are on schedule
Oversee MEPF L1-L3 commissioning and interface with clients Cx team for L4-L5 commissioning
Manage MEPF contractors through to handover (TOC)
Review MEPF variations or scope changes and liaise with commercial team for approval
Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEP systems and develop mitigation strategies
Implement and enforce quality control standards for MEP installations
Develop and manage project schedule for MEP installations, coordinating with other construction activities
Facilitate communication between project teams, subcontractors, and clients
Facilitate handover of MEP systems to building owner/operator
Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
Define roles and responsibilities for each MEP team member on the project
Prioritise safety and enforce adherence to safety protocols
Conduct regular site walks to observe work progress and ensure compliance with specifications
Document project plan changes, issues affecting schedule or budget, and maintain necessary paperwork
Strong time management, communication, and computer literacy skills are essential for preparing reports and administering project documentation
