Offshore Client Representative (OCR) for Geophysical Surveys

Scope of work:

As an Offshore Client Representative (OCR) for geophysical surveys on an offshore‑wind project, you will:

• Oversee on‑site geophysical campaigns that may use multibeam echosounders, side‑scan sonar, magnetometers / gradiometers, sub‑bottom profilers, 2D UHRS and 3D UHRS systems.
• Review the Survey Scope of Work (SOW) and the contractor’s RAMS, attend the kick‑off meeting, and act as the COMPANY’s on‑board representative throughout the campaign.
• Provide daily communication to the Package Manager, submitting Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) that cover operations, QA/QC, HSE and weather status.
• Verify the correct configuration, calibration and performance of all survey equipment; witness all tests, trials and inspections.
• Monitor data‑acquisition and onboard processing in real time, ensuring data completeness, correct parameters and full compliance with the contract.
• Promote high HSE standards, participate in toolbox and SIMOPS meetings, and serve as the immediate point of contact for FLO/MMO personnel when concerns arise.
• Track weather conditions and coordinate with the contractor on weather‑related standby decisions, recording any downtime.
• Ensure all certificates, audits and drills remain valid and up to date, and that field reports match the work performed.

Required Experience

• Minimum 10 years of combined experience in offshore construction, geology or survey.
• At least 3 years working for a contractor that conducts offshore geophysical surveys.
• At least 3 years serving specifically as an OCR on offshore geophysical campaigns; experience in Poland is highly valued.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• In‑depth understanding of offshore geophysical survey methods, deliverable formats (e.g. SEG‑Y, GIS) and related QA/QC procedures.
• Familiarity with international and Polish offshore safety legislation and regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office and common geophysical/QC software (e.g. QGIS, ArcMap, IHS Kingdom, SeisSee).
• Valid STCW Basic Safety, BOSIET or GWO Sea Survival certificates, plus an up‑to‑date offshore medical (OGUK or equivalent).
• Personal hardware and software licences sufficient to perform QC tasks on board.
• Ability to travel on short notice and remain offshore for extended periods.
• A proactive, safety‑first attitude and the confidence to intervene respectfully when required.
• Advanced written and spoken English (mandatory); knowledge of Polish is an advantage.
