Project Procurement Specialist / Project Buyer (Nuclear)

In this role, the Buyer will manage the sourcing process for a defined set of goods, apply sourcing policies, and act as an interface between suppliers and the organization with respect to specifications and budgets. This position requires strong technical knowledge in the sourcing area, combined with a proactive and autonomous approach to deliver the assigned scope of purchases. The Buyer will operate in a dynamic environment, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure progress in line with project goals.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely release of Purchase Orders for the assigned scope, maintaining the required quality, and staying within targets and budget.
• Manage the sourcing process for designated procurement packages: initiate vendor Requests for
• Quotation (RFQs), evaluate bids, prepare documentation, negotiate terms, and issue Purchase Orders in accordance with the project timeline.
• Organize and/or participate in technical-commercial discussions with suppliers, involving internal stakeholders as needed; conduct pricing and contractual negotiations.
• Follow up on assigned procurement packages: manage supplier relationships during Purchase Order execution, including contractual notifications and handling claims.
• Manage timely invoice validation and release; ensure ERP system is updated accordingly.
• Lead the commercial qualification of relevant suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Contribute to or lead cost reduction and/or quality improvement initiatives related to sourcing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably involving high-value and complex purchases. Experience in power generation or heavy industry is a plus.
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of legal/contractual aspects; excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Accountability, resilience, and autonomy; decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced international environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Very good command of English (spoken and written); proficiency in French is an asset.
• Availability for occasional business travel.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable.
