Variation Engineer – Nuclear Services (ITER Project)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of IDOM’s involvement in the ITER project, we are recruiting a Variation Engineer to join our Nuclear Services team. You will play a key role in managing contract variations, coordinating with the client and contractors, and ensuring technical, contractual, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess impact reports of variations submitted by the client and contractor proposals, ensuring technical and contractual compliance.
• Oversee the change management process, from initial analysis to issuing instructions, coordinating with the client and stakeholders.
• Assist the client in negotiations related to contract modifications and actively contribute to claims processing.
• Produce monthly monitoring reports, variation status reports, and interim payment certificates (IPCs), ensuring accuracy and reliability of the data.
• Ensure proper application of quality procedures in the context of modifications and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

ABOUT YOU

You should apply if you:

• Hold an engineering degree or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, I&C, or General Engineering.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally on complex or high-value projects (> €20 million).
• Possess solid technical knowledge of civil engineering, reinforced concrete and metal structures, HVAC systems, piping, fire protection/detection, compressed air, water, and gas systems.
• Have expertise as a quantity surveyor with experience in cost monitoring, invoicing, and budget control.
• Are familiar with FIDIC contracts and have experience working in an international environment.
• Are a proactive, reliable, and committed team player with strong communication skills.
• Have fluency in English and French; proficiency in a third language is highly valued.
