We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead to help coordinate and guide our security operations activities. This role is ideal for candidates with strong cybersecurity expertise who are looking to step into their first leadership role. The Team Lead will work closely with the broader Infrastructure and Cyber Security Operations teams to maintain and improve the organization’s security posture, with a particular focus on ISO27001 compliance.

Group IT is a cohesive, proactive, and adaptable team that delivers innovative technology solutions while demonstrating a strong customer-oriented mindset. At a high level, the department is structured around 2 key centres of excellence, namely Applications & Implementation and IT Operations.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the Cybersecurity Operations Team Lead will be responsible for coordinating the workload and managing performance of three IT Security Analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

• · Support Security Policies and Procedures: Assist in creating, updating, and enforcing security policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulations.
• · Continuous Performance Management (CPM) – Define annual performance goals for Sec Ops team members, conducting regular performance reviews, offering constructive feedback to assist in career development
• · Coordinate Security Operations: Manage the day-to-day tasks of the security operations team, including task prioritization, support ticket oversight, and coordination with external Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) for SOC (MDR), Endpoint Protection, and Vulnerability Management services.
• · ISO27001 Compliance: Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO27001:2022 processes. Lead audit preparation and evidence collection.
• · Security Awareness: Responsible for delivering security awareness initiatives and support ongoing training programs for employees across the company.
• · Incident Response: Act as the first point of escalation for security incidents. Support investigations, documentation, and initial reporting.
• · Risk Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments and support regular security audits.
• · Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee day-to-day security system monitoring activities and provide regular updates and reports to the IT Security Manager and senior IT leadership.
• · Collaboration: Work with teams such as IT, HR, Legal, Sales, and Procurement to ensure security measures are integrated into business operations.
• · Security Workshops: Coordinate and co-host security workshops and technical sessions to build awareness within the organization.

Qualifications:

• · Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• · Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with some experience mentoring, coaching, or leading small teams or projects.
• · Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge in cybersecurity operations, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• · ISO27001 Knowledge: Good working knowledge of ISO27001 standards and practices. Experience in leading business and IT teams through ISO27001 audit preparation and certification is desirable
• · Communication Skills: Good communication skills to clearly interact with both technical and non-technical teams. Strong stakeholder engagement both internally and externally
• · Leadership Potential: Ability to motivate and organize a team, delegate tasks, and promote best practices, even if in a previous unofficial leadership capacity.
• · Certifications (Preferred but not Required): Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or similar. (CISSP or CISM are a plus but not mandatory for this level.)
• · Analytical Thinking: Strong troubleshooting, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
