Join NOV’s Smart Factory initiative and help build the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations. As a Digital Manufacturing Application Engineer, you will work at the intersection of automation (OT), data/MES, and user experience, turning raw machine and process data into intuitive tools that operators and engineers rely on every day.
You will own the full lifecycle of factory-facing applications; from discovery and UI design through integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment, ensuring digital solutions are usable, secure, and maintainable in regulated production environments. You will translate production and quality needs into clear user stories and prototypes and application interfaces validate them with shop-floor stakeholders, and evolve them into robust applications that connect legacy equipment with modern platforms.
This is a hands-on creative and autonomous role that combines software engineering, data integration, automation, process engineering, and a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows. A core part of the role is integrating signals from PLCs, sensors, historians, and AI models, and exposing them through real-time dashboards that support performance, quality, and decision-making. You will collaborate closely with MES, Data, and Automation teams to bridge shop-floor systems with enterprise services such as APIs, data pipelines, authentication, and audit.
