Project Planner

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Planner to join our team at APL–NOV. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and providing insights that help ensure project milestones and overall targets are met.

As an integral part of the project management organization, you will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams, supporting planning activities across all execution phases. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with the ability to maintain a clear overview of complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities 

• Establish project schedules in accordance with standard work breakdown structures, business strategies and contract requirements, in close collaboration with the project team and discipline leads.
• Proactively monitor project status, resource needs, and critical paths.
• Participate in assessments of all changes that may impact the schedule.
• Provide schedule analysis and forecasting for weekly and/or monthly reporting.
• Work proactively with project members to ensure understanding, and ownership of the project schedule, including Level 4 activities and Level 5 activities (documents/drawings).
• Keep close control of planned and forecast dates of engineering deliverables for the project.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications & Skills 

Must have:

• BSc degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Strong proficiency with Excel
• Experience with planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera (P6), or Safran
• High attention to detail and structured working style
• Good technical understanding
• Fluency in technical English, written and spoken

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• Experience from the offshore or energy industry
• Experience working with engineering and procurement teams
• Skills in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Experience with schedule risk analysis tools for P6
• Fluency in Norwegian
