The Senior Design Engineer will play a key role in developing structural steel constructions, mechanical components, and equipment for offshore energy applications. This role supports both project execution and early-phase studies in a rapidly growing business area. As part of the NOV APL design team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineers and act as a module discipline lead in selected projects. Your work will directly contribute to delivering high-quality designs that enable the execution of complex offshore loading and mooring systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design structural steel constructions and mechanical components for offshore systems.
• Produce high-quality 2D engineering drawings with accurate detailing of references, tolerances, welding, and fasteners.
• Perform drawing checks to ensure compliance with project and company requirements.
• Act as a module discipline lead, coordinating design activities within assigned project modules.
• Identify and propose innovative design improvements for enhanced performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines and contribute to a strong team environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Engineering (relevant experience may compensate for missing formal education).
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or structural steel design for offshore/energy systems.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD systems.
• Experience with Aveva E3D/PDMS in project environments.
• Knowledge of Navisworks.
• Multidisciplinary understanding and ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Strong motivation, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Knowledge of Vault.
• Additional experience in offshore energy project environments.
• Proficiency in Norwegian.
