Piping Stress Engineer
Key responsibilities for the position :
– Ensure proper design of piping arrangements subject to piping flexibility analysis (Computer Flexibility Analysis as well as Simplified Method).
– Support the Piping Designer in developing a proper pipe routing. This includes forwarding support loads to the Piping Designer as well as the review of piping loads on equipment ensuring the calculated loads are not exceeding the limits.
– Compilation of pipelines to a stress system including preparation of Stress Analysis Index.
– Preparation of Color marked Isometrics.
– Review of the contract on pipe stress related items.
– Supporting the Piping Lead Engineer in the Stress Classification of the pipelines.
– Clarification of any pipe stress related item with the client, authorities and third parties in coordination with the Piping Lead Engineer / Project Engineer.
– Ensuring As-built Isometrics are reviewed and added to the final documentation. – Review of Piping Flexibility Analysis prior to the release by the Piping Lead Engineer. – Appraisal of third party piping stress engineers working on the project.
– Organize training / Know-how transfer on project specific items related to piping flexibility analysis if required.
– Consulting Engineering Manager and Lead Engineers on items related to piping flexibility analysis and piping part design calculations.
– Troubleshooting in the office and at site on any topics related to stress analysis
– Capable of complete Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) piping system stress analysis is an advantage but not a must.
