Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer within the National Service Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality field-based technical expertise at customers’ sites across the country. You will be responsible for installation, calibration, fault finding, training and fixing customer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, on-site commissioning, service and calibration of customers’ inline inspection equipment according to stated processes and procedures, including, where required, the provision of on-site customer training.
• Carry out upgrades and refurbishments on customer sites.
• Handle on-site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.
• Adapt to all types of environments and comply with local clients’ health and safety regulations.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time in accordance with company procedures.
• Cooperate by working overtime as and when required.
• Participate in the on-call standby rota system as required.
• Learn a diverse set of products and continually improve your product knowledge.
• Provide technical support via phone and email where required.

Requirements

Essential:

• Good technical electrical/electronics skills.
• Minimum BTEC/ONC/HNC or similar qualification in electromechanical/electrical engineering.
• Ideally experience in a field service role and familiarity with all aspects of customer service including commissioning, repairs, and servicing.
• PLC programming and knowledge of PC hardware are an advantage.
• Good PC literacy.
• Strong organisational skills oriented around reliably delivering what is promised.
• Methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Full, current driving licence.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime and stay away overnight occasionally.
