For leading projects within the offshore renewable wind industry and the oil and gas industry, Smulders HSM is looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager.

In this role, you will contribute to the safe, efficient and high-quality execution of all commissioning activities. You will work closely with the Project Manager, clients and subcontractors, ensuring a professional, structured and well-coordinated commissioning process from preparation through to execution.

As Commissioning Manager, you will play a key role in setting up the project-specific commissioning system, preparing commissioning procedures and leading the commissioning team during project execution.

Your responsibilities

As a Commissioning Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up the project-specific commissioning system.
• Preparing and managing commissioning procedures.
• Establishing and coordinating the commissioning team.
• Taking over the Mechanical Completion system in order to start commissioning activities.
• Leading a team of commissioning engineers during the execution of commissioning activities.
• Ensuring clear, complete and accurate reporting throughout the commissioning process.
• Coordinating commissioning activities with the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors and other project disciplines.
• Monitoring progress, quality and safety during commissioning execution.
• Ensuring that all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, project requirements and HSE standards.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven and experienced professional who enjoys working on complex technical projects and knows how to bring people, disciplines and processes together effectively.

You bring:

• A completed MTS or HBO degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Preferably certification as an installation responsible person or work responsible person for low-voltage installations.
• At least 5 years of experience in project execution within the wind, oil and gas or similar heavy industry.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Commissioning Manager or Commissioning Engineer within large multidisciplinary projects of more than €30 million.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Solid knowledge of relevant laws and regulations for electrical installations, including ATEX, EMC, NEN 1010, NEN 3140 and NEN-EN-IEC 60079-14.
• A valid VCA-VOL certificate.
• A structured, safety-conscious and quality-driven way of working.
• The ability to lead teams and maintain overview in a dynamic project environment.
